SUMTER COUNTY MIDDLE CELEBRATES NATIONAL BETA CLUB WEEK WITH DAILY ACTIVITIES

During the week of March 7-11, 2012, Sumter County Middle School Junior Beta Club celebrated National Beta Club Week. Various activities for the week included service projects and club outings. We started the week with “Green Clean Day”, an opportunity for Betas to assist the janitorial staff in keeping SCMS clean. Club members placed green trash bags in each classroom and assisted with disposal of trash. March 8th was Professional Dress Day which was opened to the entire student body. Students were encouraged to dress professionally to symbolize the importance of appearance in the workplace. Sumter County Middle School Beta members from surrounding schools were invited to a “Chat and Chew” social Friday, March 9, 2012. Members enjoyed playing games, music, picture taking, and delicious food. A St. Patrick’s Day dance and movie will climax the celebration on Thursday, March 15, 2012. The week ended with SCMS Beta Club ringing the bell with The Salvation Army at Wal-Mart Saturday, March 10th. The SCMS Beta Club would like to thank the following sponsors for all their help and support: Mr. Trokney Sims, Mrs. Aisha Evans, and Mrs. Marilyn Williams.

On the first day of the National Beta Club Week celebration, "GREEN CLEAN DAY," made students and adults more aware of the clean-up campaign of the school.
