GOOD ATTENDANCE IS IMPORTANT IN SUMTER COUNTY SCHOOLS

Good attendance is stressed each day in Sumter County Schools. As Coach Jimmy Green recently released his District Attendance Report for August 2011 of 98%, Dr. Gerald Cole of Staley Middle School has lived by example as he promotes good school attendance.

For 10 years, Dr. Cole has been a science and math educator. He was formerly a teacher in Atlanta Public Schools. Seeking a calmer setting, Dr. Cole came to Staley Middle some three years ago. Since joining the Staley Middle team, he has had PERFECT ATTENDANCE for all three of these years! "Dr. Cole is certainly a great example to students and staff at Staley Middle School. His perfect attendance has set a pace of excellence for our students and staff. I hope that his actions for attendance will be a model for our students," said Principal Victoria Harris.
