CAREER DAY AT SUMTER COUNTY MIDDLE BRINGS COMMUNITY AWARENESS OF GOODNESS
CAREER DAY AT SUMTER COUNTY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DRAWS COMMUNITY AWARENESS On Friday, September 9, 2011, ten different career professionals visited Sumter County Elementary School to share the importance of quality education for the student's professional life. Representatives from the Cosmetology Department and Aviation departments of South Georgia Technical College joined a veterinarian, orthodontist, Marine, Business Manager, Bank President, GBI agent, and a Motor Vehicle Display to hear first hand information concerning educational requirements. The rotating sessions began at 8:30 am. and continued until 10:00 a.m. Each career representative was escorted to their assigned information site by student ambassadors. "At Sumter County Elementary School, we are all about education for our students. To have an annual association with our community leaders is good for all of us. Our students learn from professionals about educational requirements and these representatives see Sumter County Elementary as a prime leader in elementary education in Sumter County. It is a great day," said Principal Sharon Marcus.
