"A NEW BEGINNING" IS ALIVE IN SUMTER COUNTY SCHOOLS

Some weeks before the ESPLOST campaign, signs were designed and secured by Mulkey McMichael, Director of Public Information for Sumter County Schools. The first sign installment was the beginning of a broad corporate program for the school district.

All local screen printers were contacted before a decision was made, based on cost, to order the signs on-line from http://www.bigdaddysigns.com/.  The cost of the signs, supportive stands and shipping was divided amoung all Sumter County Schools.

Since the initial order, several school department leaders have shown interest in developing a promotion sign for upcoming events. "The signs have been placed throughout Sumter County and have been well received. Citizens of Sumter County increasingly support the theme offered by Dr. Roy Brooks of "A NEW BEGINNING," said McMichael.

The 100 signs were placed throughout Sumter County. Each school was asked to photo the promotion sign, with students, and lend support to the system-wide theme.

Here Kindergarten students from Becky Wishum's class. Front row: Curtissa Evans and Gabriella Lugue. Back row: Kavon Lewis, Miranda Lee and Jasmine Jackson, gather around the new sign on the grounds of Sumter County Primary.
