SELENA WALLACE IS SELECTED TEACHER OF THE MONTH IN SUMTER COUNTY SCHOOLS
In his recommendation, Principal, Kimothy Hadley of Sumter County Middle School wrote of Mrs. Wallace, "many teachers teach, some teach with passion, others teach with glory. But, Mrs. Selena Wallace teaches with honor and commitment that is unlike any other. Her standards are high but demonstrate true life values. She has established over and over again, the positive impact that teaching and caring has had on her students. She leads by example through unwavering dedication in leading students and teachers into becoming the best they can be."

Mrs. Wallace has also served as a mentor for new teachers, 6th grade Lead Teacher, and is a member of the school's Leadership Team. Mrs. Wallace volunteers to work at basketball, football, and softball games. Recently, Mrs. Wallace volunteered to take a group of students to Atlanta for another teacher who had become ill. "Her patience is so unbelievable, even when her days are difficult. She still has a smile on her face and is able to keep a sense of humor," offered Mr. Hadley.

Here, Superintendent, Dr. Roy Brooks, at right, joins Mrs. Wallace as she receives a $25 gift card from WalMart Manager, Mr. Donald Chavis.
