"CHICAGO" PRODUCTION AT RYLANDER HAS CREATIVE LEADERSHIP OF SUMTER COUNTY SCHOOLS On March 8-11, 2012, the award-winning musical, "Chicago," will fill the stage of the historic Rylander Theater, in downtown Americus. The GSW Dramatic Arts Department is co-producer with Sumter Players. Local and talented thespians will share "a musical story of murder, greed, corruption, violence, exploitation, adultery and treachery." The show's leaflet has a "parental guidance suggested of strong language and sexual situations."
Performances of the show on March 8,9, and 10 will begin at 8:00 p.m. EST. On Sunday, March 11, the afternoon show will begin at 2:30 DST. The show is directed by Donna Minich. Brad Bunce, Americus High Singers Director and Director of Choral Music, and Michael Cahall, Staley Middle School Band Director, is Instrumental Director for the show. Christi Barr is Choreographer for this production of "CHICAGO." Christi's role is "Velma Kelly," a role created on Broadway for Chita Rivera and filled in the New York revival at one time by Bebe Neuwirth.
