COACH GURLEY CHALLENGES PHYSICAL EDUCATION STUDENTS AT SUMTER COUNTY PRIMARY
The gymnasium at Sumter County Primary is filled, each day, with activity as students learn and execute motions that will strengthen their young bodies. Directing the activity, Physical Education teacher    and coach, Ms. Wimberly Gurley, enjoys active movements with 1st grade students at the "Scarf" station. As students experience throwing, catching and crossing the mid-line of their bodies and brains with colorful scarf action, eye-hand coordination is improved. This same activity will improve reading skills for the students. The "station" in this class was designed by Coach Hanah Swinson, a student-teacher from Georgia Southwestern State University. Here Coach Gurley shares the fun of this activity with students from Mrs. Lorri Ledger's 1st grade class.
