CHRISTOPHER THOMPSON EAGER TO RETURN TO SUMTER COUNTY PRIMARY SCHOOL
On Thursday, January 5, 2012, at 6:55 a.m., Christopher Thompson, a second grader at Sumter County Primary, was the first student to the door of bus 05-09 as it parked in the area between Sumter County Primary and Sumter County Elementary Schools. His bus driver, Mrs. Mary Williams, soon stepped forward to assist students as they departed for their first day back at school after the welcomed holiday break. As he walked to Mrs. Emily Smith's second grade class, Christopher shared that he planned to read more books in 2012."I have met my last Accelerated Reading (AR) goal before Christmas. I will begin to read even more this month," said the excited student.
When asked about his other student improvement plans for the new year, he said, "I want to follow rules better and I will encourage others to read more and follow rules with me," continued Thompson.
As he entered the classroom, Thompson said he looked forward to the third grade and graduation from high school.
Assisting Christopher Thompson is school bus driver, Mrs. Mary Williams. She reminds an eager student about safety issues as he exits the school bus.
