SARAH COBB ELEMENTARY SCHOOL LEADS 97% ATTENDANCE FOR OCTOBER IN SUMTER COUNTY SCHOOLS In his October, 2011 report, School Attendance Officer, Coach Jimmy Green shared news of a 97% district attendance. "These attendance numbers are improving for each school. The student service numbers are decreasing as parents realize our mission to have a 99% monthly attendance in Sumter County Schools," said Coach Green.
Sarah Cobb Elementary led the attendance report for October with 98%. Cherokee Elementary, Sumter County Elementary, Sumter County Middle, and Staley Middle followed the lead with 97% attendance. Sumter County Primary reported a 96% attendance and Americus-Sumter South and North Campuses had 95% attendance for the month.
For October there were 94 home visits and 165 phone calls from all schools. Only 175 letters were mailed from all school with no cases turned over to Magistrate and State courts.
"As parents and students realize our increasing attention for improved student attendance, these lower numbers shed light on this widening belief in our vision for Sumter County Schools to become one of the highest achieving rural school districts in Georgia. Working together, we will realize this vision," shared Green.
