NATIONAL WALK TO SCHOOL DAY CELEBRATED AT CHEROKEE ELEMENTARY
One of the best things about attending a neighborhood school is walking to school! The Georgia Department of Transportation sponsored the National Walk to School Day on October 5th. The Georgia DOT encourages children within walking distance of their schools to help our state save gasoline and energy. This campaign also emphasizes that walking is good exercise. Cherokee students were given information to take home to share with their parents. Every day, Ms. Bobbie Adams, Ms. Juliette Jordan, and Ms. Triteasha Greene escort Cherokee students to the school street corners where they are dismissed to walk to their homes.
