Nancia's teacher, Mrs. Rebecca English, reports that from the beginning of school, Nancoa has taken and passed 47 Accelerated Reading tests with a total of 234.1 AR points earned to date. She has read 1,662,156 AR words. The class also does a word count each nine weeks to calculate the number of words read in class for assignments, posters, graphic aids, worksheets, and textbooks. These words are added to the AR total. Nancia has now read a total of 2,005,139 words thus far this year. Mrs. English said, "Nancia is a voracious reader. On some days she would rather consume a book than eat her lunch!" Her favorite titles of the 47 AR books she has read are by Lemony Snicket, the author of a series of books about unfortunate and mystery-filled events. "I really do not know how many words or books I will read this school year; we can never read enough books." said the proud top reader.
